The chief priests, the scribes, and the elders asked about the authority of Jesus; the spies tried to catch Him in His words over the tax question; and the Sadducees brought a complicated case to deny the resurrection. Jesus answered every question with the wisdom of God, and finally no one dared to ask Him anything more. Then Jesus asked them a question. If the earlier questions were traps to bring Jesus down, the Lord’s question revealed the center of salvation that people must know. It is the question of who the Christ is.
